Maintain rapport with families, children, and colleagues.Take on the lead teaching role when needed and support small groups of students regularly.Collaborate as part of a grade-level teaching team to continuously improve curriculum and instruction.Collaborate with the lead homeroom teacher in planning, preparing, and organizing materials for learning.Assist in all aspects of student supervision to promote health and safety, including lunch, class transitions, recess and rooftime play periods.

Support a positive classroom environment and children’s social and emotional growth through developmentally appropriate and responsive practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to): As a flexible thinker, the candidate should be driven to explore ways to reach all styles of learning through differentiated instruction, student-centered teaching, positive classroom management and a variety of assessment methods. Eager to learn and grow as an educator, the associate teacher will work collaboratively with the Class II homeroom teachers to develop, execute and teach lessons.

The candidate demonstrates a strong interest in child development, possesses excellent oral and written communication skills, and takes initiative.
